I accidentally read one of my friends' facebook statement "Houston, we have a problem". At first, I did not understand what he meant. Then I saw the tragic news of Whitney Houston and realised he was referring to Bodyguard. It was a nasty joke but did make me smile. Whitney Houston is without a doubt, one of my all time favourite artists. Her unfortunate incident gave me so much thinking. The question of "why these super talented people always defeated by Drugs" keeps winding in my mind. It is not always easy to keep up the expectations in life. I am just nobody and just a normal girl. I also face the fear of disappointing other people in daily life. When I was in school, I was one of the top students. One only thing kept me studying harder day after day was the thought that, if, only if, I did not meet expectations of my parents, my teachers. Even now, after one good teaching session I have given, next time, I worry more just in case, my teaching skills do not become better than the last time. I can understand the celebrities who have fame, money and everything. I can also see for a person who has everything in life already still need to get more than that "everything"? Is that it for them to use Drugs? OK, I might be bluffing a lot here, I don't care. The bottom line is, no matter what a reason - Drugs definitely is not the solution!!! |
